Barcelona Boardwalk
The current Barcelona boardwalk was created for the 1992 Olympics and was extended to celebrate the 2004 Forum of Cultures.
Walking along the Las Ramblas from La Boquería Market to the monument to Colón you can reach the Paseo Marítimo de Barcelona, where you can find the beaches of Barceloneta, Nova Icària, Bogatell, the beach of de Sant Sebastià, the oldest in the city, Torre Mapfre and Hotel Arts, Forum, Moll de la Fusta and Port Vell.
In the Port Vell is the Maremagnum shopping center, open 365 days a year with all kinds of shops and restaurants. In this area is the Aquarium of Barcelona.
Along the promenade, you can enjoy artistic works and interesting museums. Some examples of art: A room where it always rains in the Plaza del Mar, the Gamba de Mariscal or the Miraestels in Port Vell, David and Goliat in the Square of the Voluntarios Olímpicos, Peix Daurat or l ' Estel Ferit in Barceloneta. There are also several monuments such as the Clock Tower or the monument to Columbus and museums such as Museum of History of Catalonia and the Blau Museum.
It is also possible to practice sport. From Hotel W and beyond the Forum there are volleyball nets, baskets of corfbol, football goalposts or gymnastic circuits ..
