Columbus Monument
The Columbus Monument was constructed for the Exposición Universal de Barcelona (1888) in honor to Columbus first voyage to the Americas. El Monumento a Colón is at the lower end of La Rambla and is 197 ft tall.
Inside the column there is an elevator that allows to ascend to the hemisphere located under the feet of the statue, from where the city can be seen ( read more )
